A Poem a Week #23 I dreamed of a dog With a horses hoof And in my dream I was awake showing my sister I knew it was fake So I woke up and ran to tell mom Thru the Alianage I knew something was wrong My feet on pavement and books in my hand As Pages fluttered away I began to understand I was still asleep but the pages they changed To something plastic attached together with chains and here's where I knew but began to forget That it all wasn't real, I wasn't awake oh no not quite yet The night- it was dark and the scenery wet- From the tree up the stairs of iron I went To go tell my Mom of the dog with the hoof, And how The Alienage tree cought the num-chuck like pages of book Of all -what it meant-as I did ascend But I woke up for real, and did hold my breath To wait once again for reality's bend But the day it was light and the house all a buzz My feet were asleep with a little zzzzz hum There is no dog with herbivorous hoof No magical tree, nor metamorphic book No damp and no glisten just the fog in my eyes As I write you this dream as a Poem I finalize, May your dreams all be wonders and fanciful places where reality merges with all your good graces 👑 JMMP June 14, 2024
Dream interpretation is a complex and subjective practice, as dreams are deeply personal and filled with symbolism. In the context of this dream, which is presented in the form of a poem, it seems to reflect a sense of confusion and a blurring of reality. The shifting and surreal elements in the dream, like the dog with a horse's hoof, the changing pages to something plastic with chains, and the Alienage setting, indicate a feeling of uncertainty and being disconnected from the real world.
The dream may suggest that the dreamer is grappling with a situation or aspect of their life that feels surreal or disconnected from their usual experiences. The dreamer's awareness within the dream, such as recognizing that certain elements are fake or strange, may indicate a subconscious attempt to navigate through unfamiliar or confusing circumstances.
The theme of communication and seeking validation from others, like showing the dream to the sister and wanting to tell the mother, could indicate a desire for support and understanding in waking life. The dreamer's struggle to differentiate between dream and reality, as well as the repeated attempts to wake up, may suggest a need for clarity and grounding.
Overall, this dream poem could be interpreted as a reflection of uncertainty, confusion, and a search for stability and understanding in the midst of surreal experiences. It encourages the dreamer to navigate through life's challenges with curiosity and wonder, embracing both the fantastical and the familiar aspects of their world.
